Batch Editing with Comments: Plan Multiple Edits at Once

Learn how to use the comment system to mark multiple moments in your video, plan your edits, and execute them all in a single AI generation.

Editing videos one effect at a time can be slow. What if you could watch through your entire video once, mark all the spots that need effects, and then let AI create everything at once? That's exactly what VibeEffect's comment-based batch editing lets you do.

Why Batch Editing?

Faster Workflow

Mark all your ideas while watching once, then generate all effects together.

Better Planning

See all planned edits at a glance. Adjust and refine before committing.

Consistent Style

AI sees all your requests together and creates cohesive, matching effects.

Step 1: Add Comments While Watching

The first step is to watch through your video and right-click to add comments at each spot where you want an effect. Think of comments as "notes to yourself" that AI will later execute.

1

Play Your Video

Start playing your video and watch for moments where you want to add effects, text, or any visual changes.

2

Right-Click on the Video

When you spot a moment, right-click directly on the video player. Select "Add Comment" from the context menu.

3

Describe Your Effect

Type what you want to happen at this moment. Be specific: "zoom in on face", "add title text", "flash transition".

4

Continue Watching & Adding

Repeat throughout the video. Add as many comments as you need. They'll appear as markers in your timeline.

Pro tip: You can also click directly on the timeline to add comments at specific timestamps, even while paused!

Example: Planning a Music Video

Here's how your comments might look after watching through a 30-second music clip:

0:03

Add title text: 'SUMMER VIBES' with glow effect

0:08

Zoom in on artist's face, slow motion

0:12

Flash transition to next scene

0:18

Add moving particles floating up

0:24

Color shift to warm orange tones

0:28

Fade to black with logo

Step 2: Review in the Comment List

All your comments are collected in the Comment List Panel. This gives you an overview of all planned edits before executing them.

View All CommentsSee every planned edit in chronological order
Click to JumpClick any comment to jump to that timestamp in the video
Edit or DeleteModify your ideas or remove comments you no longer need

Step 3: Execute All Edits

Once you're happy with your planned edits, it's time to let AI execute them all at once. There are two ways to do this:

A

Run Individual Comments

Click the play button next to any comment in the list. AI will generate that specific effect at the marked timestamp.

B

Batch Execute with Magic Input

Open the Magic Input (⌘K) and type something like: "execute all my comments" or "apply all planned edits". AI will process everything.

Real-World Workflow Example

Creating a Social Media Promo Video

  1. 1.Upload your raw footage of a product showcase (30 seconds)
  2. 2.Watch through once, right-clicking to add: intro title, feature callouts, price tag, CTA button, end card
  3. 3.Review comments in the list — remove any duplicates, refine wording
  4. 4.Click through each comment's play button to generate effects one by one
  5. 5.Preview the complete video, make any adjustments
  6. 6.Export — done in minutes, not hours!

Tips for Effective Batch Editing

  • Be specific in comments — 'red glowing text saying SALE' is better than 'add text'
  • Add time context if needed — 'fade in over 2 seconds' or 'last until the beat drop'
  • Use comments for complex multi-step ideas you might forget
  • Review and edit comments before executing — it's easier to refine text than regenerate effects
  • Start with fewer comments on your first video to learn the workflow

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit a comment after adding it?

Yes! Click on any comment in the Comment List Panel to edit its text. You can also delete comments you no longer need.

Do comments stay after I generate effects?

Comments remain visible as reference markers even after effects are generated. You can clear them manually when done, or keep them as notes for future edits.

Can I add multiple comments at the same timestamp?

Absolutely. If you have multiple ideas for the same moment, add multiple comments. Each will be visible in the timeline and can be executed separately.

What if I want the same effect at multiple points?

Add separate comments at each timestamp with the same description. AI will create consistent effects across all marked points.
